From The Minister...
Every month Melbourn Baptist Church Minister, Stuart Clarke gives us a roundup of the latest work and challenges within the Church. This months article is below.

But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mk 10:6
God brings us an exciting month this July as we celebrate the wedding of Naomi Dixon to Danny Jeffery. It has been a real privilege for Margie and I to spend five weeks exploring the issues that are faced as two become one before God. We have explored these issues informally over a meal, by participating in an interactive marriage course on DVD, and sharing together our experiences and expectations of marriage. This month on the 5th of July at 2.00 p.m. we will gather as a church to witness the promises made before God and each other of the love that has grown and blossomed between Naomi and Danny. This day has particular significance for me in Pastoral ministry as it is the first wedding in Melbourn Baptist that I will have participating in.
Later in the month before we all begin the annual migration of a family church in the summer holidays we will together celebrate the Baptisms of Joe Fox, Sally and Gary Coxall, and Barnaby Jordan. We will on July 20th again witness the powerful profession of faith that occurs through the waters of baptism. This morning will be a good opportunity to invite family and friends to perhaps see a baptism for the first time. After this celebration we will share a barbeque together and join in catching up with Patrick, Sandra, Barnaby, Amy and Millie as they return to us for a short while from America.
I hope that you will pray, support and join with us in celebrating these two exciting celebrations before God.
Blessings,
Stuart
